Experience Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery community where people can come as they are and begin healing in a safe, confidential, and welcoming environment. Whether you are facing hurts, habits, hang-ups, grief, addiction, anxiety, or broken patterns in life, you are not alone. This space is open to everyone, whether or not First Lutheran Church is your home church.

Why Christ-Centered Recovery?
Recovery is not only about stopping destructive behavior. It is about healing what is underneath it. Many people carry pain, shame, fear, isolation, or patterns they have never been able to fully name. Christ-centered recovery begins with the belief that real change is possible, not just through willpower, but through grace, truth, and community.
Jesus does not meet people with condemnation. He meets them with honesty, compassion, and the invitation to be made new. In that spirit, recovery becomes more than behavior management. It becomes a path toward wholeness: spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. It is a place to tell the truth, to let go of secrecy, and to begin rebuilding with hope.
A Christ-centered approach also reminds us that no one is beyond redemption. You do not have to have everything together before you show up. You do not need to be a church member, have the right words, or know exactly where to begin. You simply need a willingness to take one step.
At Experience Recovery, we believe healing happens in the presence of God, in the company of others, and through the steady practice of honesty, grace, and hope.
